Teeing Up the Third Annual Fortinet Security Summit at the 2023 Fortinet Championship

By Fortinet | August 25, 2023

Now in its third year, the Fortinet Championship is the perfect opportunity to serve our customers and the community in unique and exciting ways. We're thrilled to be back at the Silverado Resort in beautiful Napa, California, to bring together renowned golfers, their fans, and the Fortinet community of employees, executives, partners, customers, and technology leaders. During this event, attendees can expect engaging discussions and keynotes with security experts, exquisite culinary experiences, musical performances, charitable events, and of course, PGA TOUR golf.

Attend Our Third Annual Fortinet Security Summit

The 2023 Fortinet Security Summit will be hosted during the Fortinet Championship. This year's event will allow attendees to hear from a diverse group of cybersecurity experts, ranging from government leaders to Fortune 500 executives.

Customers, partners, executives, and other professionals will benefit from two full days of keynotes, panel discussions, and roundtable sessions. Fortinet aims to provide attendees with fresh ideas, best practices, and more to enhance their digital transformation efforts.

In addition to the symposium, the event will feature a Technology Vendor Expo where attendees can network with other business leaders and learn more about the latest cybersecurity technologies and services.

What to Expect at the Fortinet Championship: Golf, Music, and More

The Fortinet Championship, dubbed the “most fan-friendly event” by the PGA TOUR, features four days of golf. Two of the PGA TOUR’s top players, Max Homa and Justin Thomas, will play in this year’s event. Winners from the Fortinet Cup Championship in Canada (September 4–10, 2023) and the Sahalee Players Championship in Washington (September 9–10, 2023) will earn an exemption to play in the Fortinet Championship.

The second annual Bushwood Classic—a “closest to the hole” contest created exclusively for caddies—will add an exciting layer of competition to this year’s event outside of PGA TOUR play. The event quickly became a highlight of last year’s tournament, offering caddies an exciting opportunity to showcase their skills and camaraderie. The Bushwood Classic also embodies Fortinet’s commitment to supporting the communities we serve, with generous prize offerings for both caddies and charitable causes.

The 2023 event also features a series of concerts, with artists such as Brothers Osborne, Judah & the Lion, Stone Temple Pilots, and +LIVE+ taking the stage.

Meet Our Brand Ambassadors

The two-time reigning champion and Fortinet ambassador Max Homa returns to Silverado Resort to seek his third Fortinet Championship win. This year brought Homa two wins and four other top 10 finishes with victories at the Fortinet Championship and Torrey Pines, in addition to a second place finish at The Genesis Invitational, a tie for third at Kapalua, and a T6 at THE PLAYERS Championship.

Fortinet’s other global brand ambassadors include David Lipsky on the PGA TOUR, Andrea Lee and Alison Lee on the LPGA TOUR, and college golfer Rachel Heck.

Supporting the Communities We Serve

One of the most rewarding parts of the Fortinet Championship is the opportunity to invest in organizations that are focused on critical initiatives, such as closing the cyber skills gap, supporting women in technology careers, and promoting educational programs.

The Fortinet Championship has designated proceeds to benefit nonprofit organizations focusing on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); diversity and inclusion; reskilling programs; and Napa Valley–area nonprofits. The Fortinet Championship supports a variety of charities, including Alaina’s Voice Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of Napa Valley, Cameron Champ Foundation, Eat.Learn.Play. Foundation, First Tee North Coast, Keller Restaurant Relief Fund, and Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition.

In partnership with First Street Napa, the Fortinet Championship will present three days of golf-themed activities to engage Napa Valley residents, local businesses, charities, and schools.

  • The “First Street Napa City and County Challenge” will take place Tuesday, September 12 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Teams from city and county groups will compete for the best putt, most hole-in-ones, and best score to receive prizes from specialty gift shop Bennington Napa Valley. The public can putt with the PGA TOUR pro golfers during this event and get photos and autographs.
  • The “$20,000 Putting Challenge for Napa Charity” is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Teams from several local charities will compete for top scores in qualifying rounds to advance as finalists at the putt-off at Silverado Resort on Saturday, September 16. Fortinet will also host the “$5,000 Putting Challenge for Napa Schools” at 5 p.m. the same day, giving participants the opportunity to compete and earn a $5,000 donation to the local school of their choice.
  • The “Putting Challenge Final Round” takes place Saturday, September 16 from 12 to 1:15 p.m. Qualifying participants from Wednesday’s event will compete for a $20,000 charity donation and a $5,000 school donation.
